Sunrise, the Blue Ridge MountainsAn early morning shot in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I was impressed by the soft blue colors which transitioned to a warm morning sky. It gave the opportunity to explore luminosity and contrast.
Towers of Paine IIThis is a shot of the famous Chilean Mountains. This was taken at sunset which is about 9PM at the time of year I was there. It was a fairly challenging shot because of the contrast and the heavy haze. I revisited this shot and decided to express it as black and white.
Shades of the Great SmokiesThis is an early morning shot in the Great Smoky Mountains. I am intrigued by these mountains as they transition off into the distance. I decided to express the image in Black & White to emphasize luminosity and contrast in the image that creates a natural abstract.

Jagged Mountains, the PatagoniaThis is a shot that made while in the Patagonia in 2016. I went back to re-look at this image. What interested me were the shapes and the lighting. Post processing allowed me to embellish the luminosity and contrast as compositional elements as a transition through the image from foreground to background.
Rocks and Rapids, Blue Ridge MountainsA midday shot in the Blue Ridge Mountains of a stream under the shade. I selected a shutter speed that would provide the rush of the rapids and still maintain a measure of texture. The rock in the upper left offered an anchor and helped to provide depth.

Rocks & Rapids, the Blue RidgeI find it stimulating to challenge myself to “throw away” the rules of composition and just create an image from one I notice. This one works with with the static and dynamic elements of moving water and rocks along with color to create an auditory visionary experience (yes, you should probably reread that).
